Saving a Tooth
The aim of root canal treatment is to save a tooth that has been badly damaged due to decay, disease or injury.
Using special instruments called files, we remove inflamed or infected nerve tissue. Anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial medicines are then put inside the tooth to help stop inflammation and infection.
Root Canal Therapy is a very difficult procedure particularly for molar teeth which have 4 canals. Due to this in order to provide the best treatment for our patients we refer molar teeth to a specialist endodontist. We will treat some front teeth depending on the level of difficulty.
Usually a tooth that has had Root Canal Treatment will require a Crown to protect, strengthen and seal the tooth. This is best done soon after the Root Canal Treatment is completed.
Newmarket Dental provide root canal treatment to patients in Newmarket and surrounding areas of Brisbane.
